“AI” has reared its ugly head again in the design world because Figma has introduced “AI” capabilities. The problem is, it’s already ripping off well established designs; whoops!
Another problem is where is that training data coming from? Well, sorry to be the one to break it to you, but it’s your work. We’ve got you though with a guide on how to stop that from happening.
The biggest problem though is Figma AI will kill off jobs and further commoditise design. Designers are going to have to expand their skillsets. I strongly recommend learning to code to do that.
Enough doom and gloom to wrap up. CSS has a new anchor positioning capability and I found this really useful visual tool to help you with that. Keep your eyes peeled for the latest Front-End Challenges Club solution coming next week that shows you how to use anchor positioning for decorative elements too.
I’m going to be away for a week or so on vacation, so I’ll catch you on my return 👋🏝️
P.S. check out this cool demo.
