Piccalilli is all about education for the real world. What our readers enjoy the most is learning stuff that makes them better at doing their job, whether they’re a developer, designer or even a decision maker.
What type of content works well
By far the most successful content on Piccalilli is short and actionable. Sure, we do publish longer guides, but those short, actionable articles work really well for our readers.
We tend to say, aim to keep it under 1,000 words. Demos, diagrams and illustrations work really well too.
What topics and subject areas we’re looking for
- Using the most modern CSS capabilities with a progressive enhancement mindset
- UX and UI design
- Content that helps people move from design/development into management positions
- JavaScript (progressive enhancement is a bonus)
- Design systems (both from designer and developer perspectives)
That’s just a handful of stuff. We want to hear from you if your idea isn’t represented with that list though!
What support you get
We’ll be with you every step of the way. We’ll help you work out your outline and get really hands-on with the edit too. We can also help make really nice demos and diagrams/illustrations.
Of course, we pay writers
If we publish your writing, we pay you £200! Simple.
