Howdy!
We’re two weeks on from the last issue and the great exodus of people leaving Twitter has not only continued, but its skyrocketed, mostly because Elon Musk is now going to be part of the incoming American fascist government. This means if you thought Twitter was bad now, oh boy, it’s gonna seem like sunlight uplands to what’s coming. It’s time to go as I see it.
Related, I like how Ryan wrote about this stuff. Essentially, he thinks Bluesky has won the “Twitter wars” and I agree with him. Ryan has not been 100% team Bluesky either. He’s written about its growth since last year in a fair, balanced manner over on Garbage Day, so them coming in with that opinion fills me with optimism. I know I certainly think Bluesky has got the juice, so come along. It’s great.
Jonnie redesigned his Dad’s website which doesn’t sound overly exciting, but it is, because he’s shared all the lovely details that went into it in this great Bluesky thread. I especially like how he broke down the signature animation too.
Ethan made their legendary Responsive Web Design book completely free. This book completely changed how I approached web design in a truly formative era in the industry.
Sophie is one of my favourite writers and this latest piece on Art and creative joy is really good. Their website is top class too.
James made this cool pomodoro timer that’s super performant. I’ve got this thing pinned at the moment and I’m really enjoying it. It’s butter smooth thanks to being worker-based.
Lastly, as you know, I hate to Plug My Stuff™, but I thought I’d let you know my upcoming course, Complete CSS, goes live on November 26 at 12pm GMT. It’s going to launch with a limited early bird price of £189. Sign up for updates!
P.S here’s a cool demo.
